A humourous and catchy song, written for high school girls' choir
This song is a setting of a poem by Gareth Owen, from his collection entitled Sky in the Pie (Puffin Books Ltd, 1985, used with permission).
It was commissioned by and written for The Rangi Ruru School Chorale, conductor Glenys Drummond, as part of a larger work called Rangi Ruru: A Commemorative Celebration.
It was written to celebrate the centenary of the school, in 1989.
Parts for flute and cello are also available for these songs upon request from the composer.
The song was arranged as a soprano and baritone duet for Anna and Matthew Leese in 2007, and recorded on the CD NZ Poets in Song
