Dear Examiner

for SA choir and piano. Anthony Ritchie Opus 28d

A humourous and catchy song, written for high school girls' choir

This song is a setting of a poem by Gareth Owen, from his collection entitled Salford Road and Other Poems (Young Lions, 1988, used with permission). It tells a familiar story of a student struggling with what to write in an exam. It was commissioned by and written for The Rangi Ruru School Chorale, conductor Glenys Drummond, as part of a larger work called Rangi Ruru: A Commemorative Celebration. It was written to celebrate the centenary of the school, in 1989.
Parts for flute and cello are also available for these songs upon request from the composer.
